Staff Community Builder
The Staff Community Builder Programme encourages, supports and recognises the company’s employees to give time, energy and talents and play an active role in the development of their communities. One of the most critical determinants of success in community projects which this programme addresses is the shortage of skills and access to networks by community based organisations.
Care and Share
Our staff, from the highest to the lowest level, give one day of their time a year to get involved in any one of the following events - Habitat builds (June); Mandela Day (18th July); Do it Day (15th/16th October) and our Community Engagement campaign (22 Nov – 3 Dec). The one day’s salaries and wages are paid for by Old Mutual.
Staff Payroll Giving Programme
Old Mutual OMSTA Managing Director, Rose Keanly is the Patron of the Payroll Giving Programme. Through this programme, staff contribute financially to two funds. These are ‘Adopt’ an Orphan Programme and the Staff Charity Fund.
Through these two programmes, over R4 million has been raised by staff in the past nine years and matched rand-for-rand by the Old Mutual Foundation, making this the largest contribution by staff in any company in South Africa.
