Old Mutual International Pairs (OMIPSA) is the South African leg of the largest amateur golf event of its kind in the world. Hundreds of thousands of golfers in 30 countries have played internationally and in South Africa, over 30 000 golfers have played in OMIPSA events since the first qualifying event was played in January 2006.
Old Mutual are proud sponsors of the South African leg, giving ordinary golfers around the country an opportunity to participate and compete just like the pro golfers. The majority of club golfers have had little or no chance of playing in a recognised South African Amateur golf event - until now!
OMIPSA is a competition that mirrors the qualifying process on a number of Professional Golf Events with the process culminating in two pairs of ordinary club golfers representing South Africa at the World Finals.

The Carrick on Loch Lomond, has quickly established itself as one of the UK's premier courses. Set in a breathtaking location on the banks of Loch Lomond surrounded by the Trossachs mountain range, the Carrick is one of the most picturesque golf courses in the UK.
The championship layout is a stern test and has already welcomed world class competition to its fairways; hosting the Ladies Scottish Open in 2007 and 2008 and The PGA cup in 2009. Designed by the renowned Canadian architect, Doug Carrick, the course meanders between the lowland banks of Loch Lomond on the front nine, before returning into the undulating highland heath for the back nine.
We look forward to taking our South African representatives there to take on the world!
How OMIPSA works?
What is Old Mutual International Pairs South Africa (OMIPSA)?
- Old Mutual International Pairs SA (OMIPSA) is a tournament that mirrors the qualifying process of number of Professional Golf tournaments.
- The process results in thousands of golfers competing in the Regional and National Finals and culminates in two pairs of ordinary amateur club golfers representing South Africa at the World Finals.
- Old Mutual International Pairs SA is now in it’s sixth year since it’s inception in South Africa in January 2006.
How is it different from other similar tournaments?
- Old Mutual International Pairs SA is completely open to all club golfers with an official handicap from an affiliated golf club with its own golf course.
- It provides all these handicap golfers with the opportunity to compete to represent their club, their region and even their country in an international tournament.
- No invitation is required and golf clubs simply generate qualifying pairs from their Club Qualifying events.
- OMIPSA utilises various rules unique to the event; particularly with regards handicapping control.
