The Old Mutual Football Academy, based at Old Mutual in Pinelands, was formed in September 2002 with the aim of becoming the preferred football academy in South Africa by providing top class coaching and training facilities.
The Academy is run by a qualified team of committed people who are passionate about the game and want to give talented youngsters, many of them from under-privileged backgrounds, an opportunity to better themselves in life through the achievement of their football dreams.
Old Mutual's holistic football sponsorship includes:
- Being a financial services provider to three Premier League soccer (PSL ) teams namely: Ajax Cape Town, Bloemfontein Celtic and Moroka Swallows.
- Founding partnership of the Dreamfields project.
- The Football Academy.
