We’re very proud to be partnering with one of South Africa’s most popular TV shows, Soul City for their 11th series, to share some of the knowledge and experience we have gained over 165 years. The Soul City TV series is produced by the Soul City Institute of Health and Development and is one of South African’s most popular and loved local TV dramas.
This thought-provoking and award-winning show utilises high emotion and intrigue to keep viewers glued to their seats. Soul City’s focus is ‘edutainment’: - educating, informing and entertaining by conveying many important social messages. It is about improving lives; about changing situations for the better. It is about health communication; about individuals and communities focusing on human development. Soul City South Africa is about you and me – about showing you what is possible, what you can do, what social change means and how to achieve great things for your own health, your own quality of life and for those around you. e.g.

Aligned with the Soul City Institute’s educational focus, the dramatic storyline of Soul City series 11 will tackle issues around: Financial literacy, multiple partnership, male circumcision and prevention of HIV transmission from mother to a child.
Financial education is one of the key focus areas for our social responsibility programmes and this partnership will enable us to feature a financial education storyline in the current TV series. A radio station programme called ‘On the Money’ forms part of the current Soul City series. The ‘radio show’ focuses on financial education creating the link with our Old Mutual financial education series ‘On the Money’. This provides us the opportunity to profile Old Mutual as the company in the know when it comes to finances.
