Masisizane Team

The Masisizane team comprises Rojie Kisten (General Manager of Corporate Affairs), Charmaine Groves (Operations Manager of Masisizane), Zimkhitha Mhlanga (Senior Project Manager), Kela Makwetla (Masisizane Administrator), Khanyisile Sibanyoni (Research Specialist) and Kabelo Phore (Personal Assistant to Charmaine Groves).

Charmaine Groves

Charmaine is responsible for the operations of Masisizane. She has been in the financial services industry for twenty-seven years, and has experience in actuarial consulting services, product development, structured insurance and employee benefits sales.

Charmaine also serves as non-executive director on the board on Pro-active Health Solutions.

Benna Van der Merwe

Benna is the Masisizane team’s Enterprise Development Specialist. Being instrumental in the founding of the Old Mutual Foundation ten years ago and working in the Foundation since then, Benna has vast experience in the development of communities in rural and peri-urban areas of South Africa.

She joined Old Mutual 18 years ago and managed various projects prior to working in the Foundation. Benna serves on the board of two not-for-profit organisations, namely Sibanye and Eagles Rising.

Zimkhitha Mhlanga

Zimkhitha is responsible for overseeing the implementation of projects as senior project manager.

She brings with her a wealth of experience from her various positions within the department of Land Affairs where she was involved in local government, the establishment of legal entities, feasibility studies and the development of business.

Kela Makwetla

Kela joined the Masisizane team in 2007 and looks after the administration for all of the Masisizane initiatives.

This includes screening incoming projects and ensuring they are routed to the correct partners.

Khanyisile Sibanyoni

Khanyi joined Old Mutual in 2006 as a member of the Graduate Accelerated Programme.

Prior to joining Masisizane, she worked on a rotational basis for various business units including PFA Incentives, Old Mutual Bank and OMSTA HR.

Kabelo 'KB' Phore

Kabelo is Personal Assistant to Charmaine Groves. She also provides general assistance to the administration of the Masisizane Project at large.

Kabelo joined Old Mutual in 2004, working as a personal assistant within Group Schemes and Old Mutual plc before joining the Masisizane team.
