    Jurie Swart

    Head: Infrastructure and Development Impact Funds

    Current Responsibility

    Jurie was appointed as the Head of Infrastructure and Development Impact Funds in 2007. The division includes: the AIIM infrastructure asset management joint venture with Macquarie Bank, which manages the SAIF, AIIF and KEIF Funds; the IDEAS Fund; the FSC Targeted Investments Fund, and the International Infrastructure Fund.

    Since the beginning of 2001, Jurie has been involved in various roles in the Infrastructure and Development Impact Funds division of the Alternative Investments boutique. This includes the analysis, assessment and execution of infrastructure and development property projects; ongoing asset management of investments; portfolio management of the IDEAS Fund, and board representation on various investee company boards.

    Previous Experience

    Jurie joined OMIGSA as an Equity Analyst in September 1999 before joining the Infrastructure team.

    After completing an accounting conversion course at UCT, he served articles with KPMG on various audits, tax advisory work and secondment to major clients on corporate finance assignments.

    Jurie started his working career at Murray and Roberts, as a civil engineering contractor on various road, bridge and bulk concrete projects.

  • Tom Plaistowe

    Tom Plaistowe

    Senior Executive

    Current Responsibility

    Tom is currently responsible for the appraisal, analysis, and portfolio management of infrastructure and development assets for the Old Mutual Group.

    He is Chairman of the Africa Infrastructure Investment Fund Managers, a company that is jointly owned by OMIGSA and Macquarie Bank and which manages the South African Infrastructure Fund, the Africa Infrastructure Investment Fund and jointly with Kagiso, the Kagiso Infrastructure Empowerment Fund. He is a Director of Setsing Financial Services and the Community Growth Management Company both asset management companies.

    He is Chairman of the N3 Toll Concession Company and a Director of Bakwena Platinum Corridor Concession Company, Railway Systems of Zambia, New Limpopo Bridge and Rainprop.

    Previous Experience

    Tom has six-years' experience as a consulting civil and structural engineer and 21-years' investment experience with the Old Mutual Group – including eight years investment experience in sub-Saharan African countries including Kenya, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Botswana.

  • Christine Glover

    Christine Glover

    Head: Development Impact Funds

    Current Responsibility

    Christine joined OMIGSA in July 2006 as a consultant helping OMIGSA to identify appropriate Financial Sector Charter Assets. Christine then joined OMIGSA permanently in October 2007. As a member of the Alternative Investments boutique, she is responsible for originating and managing FSC compliant assets.

    Previous Experience

    Prior to joining OMIGSA, she was a consultant for five years and Managing Director of CashBank and its predecessor, The Group Credit Company, for 13 years. Christine was involved primarily in squatter upgrading strategies with the Urban Foundation for a further five years. Christine has 23 years of work experience in low-income housing.

  • Leon Dykman

    Leon Dykman

    Senior Executive

    Current Responsibility

    Leon joined the Development Impact Team from OMIGSA's Central Credit Team, where he was a Credit Analyst. His responsibilities include investigating and concluding new transactions, managing existing transactions, and assuming overall responsibility for administration and governance functions within the team.

    Leon’s diverse background enables him to bring his credit and financial management skills to the fore.

    Previous Experience

    Prior to joining OMIGSA, he was a credit analyst at CA-Ratings and Moody's for seven years.

    In addition, Leon has fifteen years of work experience as Financial Manager and Financial Director in medium-size private companies.

  • Sarah Webb

    Sarah Webb

    Senior Portfolio Manager

    Current Responsibility

    Sarah joined OMIGSA in 2007. She is responsible for origination, implementation, operational and investment performance of the HIFSA and FSC funds property-related investments.

    Sarah is focusing on affordable housing, but not abandoning her roots in commercial property. She also has proven experience in a diverse range of property and finance disciplines.

    Her extensive network of contacts in the property, finance, legal and businesses in general in South Africa are also key assets.

    Previous Experience

    Prior to OMIGSA, Sarah was a director of property finance at Standard Bank for 21 years until March 2007. In that time, she was involved with property valuation, property management, property asset management and structured finance on a national basis.

    Her previous work experience was with The Prudential Assurance Company working in the property investment department.

    Greg Coe

    Junior Portfolio Manager

    Current Responsibility

    Greg joined OMIGSA in December 2009. He is a member of the FSC team and his primary role is that of originating and managing new low-income housing-related investment.

    Previous Experience

    Prior to joining OMIGSA, he worked in an investment property company which specialised in the sourcing and structuring of private investment property assets.

    Greg has four years of work experience in various roles involving the analysis and viability of property investments.

  • Junaid Moosa

    Junaid Moosa

    Investment Analyst

    Current Responsibility

    Junaid joined OMIGSA in March 2010. As a member of the Development Impact Asset team, he is responsible for research and analysis, assisting in the origination of projects, due diligence of projects, financial structuring and modelling, asset valuation, development of term sheets, writing investment proposals and social impact analysis. He is currently focused on the establishment of the Schools Fund.

    Junaid’s background enables him to bring his research and financial skills to the fore. He has a keen interest in developing triple bottom line investment solutions.

    Previous Experience

    Prior to joining OMIGSA, Junaid spent two years in Dubai working for the Dubai Real Estate Institute offering executive education courses for managers working in the Middle East Real Estate industry.

  • Palesa Kekana

    Palesa Kekana

    Investment Analyst

    Current Responsibility

    Palesa joined OMIGSA in April 2010 as an Investment Analyst. She is responsible for: analysis , provision of relevant information in the housing and associated space, originating projects, conducting due diligence, full financial analysis, structuring and risk assessment of projects as well as a risk assessment, writing up the investment proposals, ongoing monitoring and management of projects, contributing to direction and management of fund and all performance reporting with specific focus on the Housing Impact Fund.

    Palesa’s banking background enables her to bring her numerical and analytical thinking skills to the fore.

    Previous Experience

    Prior to joining OMIGSA she was an Analyst at First Rand Bank Ltd for a year, and had previously completed a graduate programme at Nedbank Capital.

    Lukholo Mlisana

    Analyst

    Current Responsibility

    Lukholo joined OMIGSA in November 2010. As a member of the FSC team, he is responsible for assisting with due diligence undertaken by asset managers, prepare financial models, monitor the performance of certain assets and assist in the preparation of six-monthly and annual valuations.

    Lukholo’s background enables him to bring his strong financial and team working skills to the fore.

    Previous Experience

    Prior to joining OMIGSA he was part of the Graduate Acceleration Program at Old Mutual Investment Group Property Investments (OMIGPI) for 21 months.

  • Kathiem Najjaar

    Kathiem Najjaar

    Investment Analyst

    Current Responsibility

    Kathiem joined the Development Impact Funds team in June 2011 as an Investment Analyst. As a member of the team, he is responsible for analysis of potential projects, as well as management of existing assets in the Development Impact Fund Portfolio.

    Previous Experience

    Prior to joining Old Mutual Investment Group South Africa (OMIGSA), he was a manager at KPMG in their corporate finance division for two years, before starting with OMIGSA Finance in January 2010.

    Kathiem has 13 years of work experience, working in the back office of various asset management companies before completing articles with KPMG and qualifying as a chartered accountant.

  • Collene Goldschmidt

    Collene Goldschmidt

    Investment Support Specialist

    Current Responsibility

    Collene joined OMIGSA in August 2008 and was responsible for investment and operations support to the private equity, infrastructure and mezzanine debt funding areas. As of January 2010 she joined the Financial Sector Charter (FSC) Team within OMIGSA Alternative Investments and is currently responsible for investment and operations support function within the team.

    Previous Experience

    Prior to OMIGSA, Collene was the Financial Manager of Sanlam Private Equity, having joined in 2005. Here she was responsible for the full financial, administrative and operational activities of the business.

    Collene began her professional career after completing her articles with Grant Thornton International, later joining Sanlam Employee Benefits in 2000 as an accountant. She also worked at Tellumat Manufacturing in 2002, as a Financial Accountant.

    Current Responsibility

    Mnombo joined the Development Impact Funds team in June 2011. As a member of the team, he is responsible for assisting in the origination of projects, due diligence of projects, financial structuring and modelling, development of term sheets and writing investment proposals.

    Previous Experience

    Prior to joining the Development Impact Fund team, he worked in various roles within the Old Mutual Group, including working as Executive Assistant to the CEO of OMIGSA, Product Management Consultant for the GREENLIGHT range of risk products in the Retail Affluence and as an actuarial student within Retail Risk Product Development.

    Mnombo has over 10 years of work experience in the financial services industry.
