  Michael Schroder

  Joint Boutique Head: Value Equity Investments

  Current Responsibility

  Michael manages a number of specialist equity portfolios, both institutional and retail including two unit trusts. Having lived through many a cycle, Michael brings a deep knowledge of the resources sector as well as a wealth of portfolio management experience to the Value Equity team.

  Previous Experience

  Michael joined Old Mutual Investment Group (previously OMAM) in 1990 as an investment analyst covering gold, platinum, diamonds and a number of other shares in the resources sector. Prior to that, Michael spent seven years in operations management with Anglo American.

  Michael has been a portfolio manager since 1993. He joined Old Mutual Investment Group South Africa (OMIGSA) in 1990 as an investment analyst covering gold, platinum, diamonds and a number of other shares in the resources sector. Prior to that, Michael spent seven years in operations management with Anglo American. In 2003, Michael assumed responsibility as Head of Equity Research and a year later, he joined the Equity Construction Team, which compiled Old Mutual Investment Group’s model “House View” portfolio.

  Feroz Basa

  Current Responsibility

  His responsibilities include stock analysis and portfolio management duties.

  Previous Experience

  Feroz graduated at the University of the Western Cape and joined Old Mutual in 1998. He spent most of his years with Old Mutual Unit Trusts, before joining Fairbairn Capital, where he was responsible for Pricing and Valuation. He then joined Old Mutual Investment Group South Africa (OMIGSA) in 2004 as part of the Investment Academy and was appointed as an industrial analyst in September 2004.
