Travelling Nurses drastically reduce the hassle often associated with underwriting, allowing members to get cover sooner and more easily.
Members are often required to visit a doctor for medical tests, which include the collection of blood samples, as well as to complete underwriting reports. These onerous tasks often leave members with reduced cover until all of the insurer's underwriting requirements are met.
Travelling Nurses are registered nurses employed by Old Mutual, who visit members conveniently at their office to help fulfil the initial underwriting requirements.
They perform medical tests, including the collection of blood samples, along with completing the short medical reports. These reports comprise of:
- Medical questionnaire.
- Height and weight assessment.
- Blood pressure and urine sample.
- Taking of blood samples where required.

As initial underwriting is at the cost of the insurer, Travelling Nurses is offered at no extra charge to all Old Mutual Group Assurance clients.
