OMAC Healthcare Survey

The South African healthcare industry is a dynamic and fast-changing environment. As is the case with all financial services, a clear understanding of the trends and forces shaping the current and future healthcare landscape is essential for any industry participant that wants to maximize their opportunities, manage risks, and deliver the best possible solutions for their clients, employees or scheme members.

Based on this understanding of the importance of relevant industry information, the 2010 OMAC Healthcare Survey builds on the company’s established tradition of surveying the industry to gain an understanding of the issues it faces, both now and in the future. It offers first-hand insight into the major trends, issues and concerns in the healthcare industry, as identified by medical schemes, employers, brokers and medical scheme members.

Topics surveyed include (but are not limited to): Prescribed Minimum Benefits (PMBs); Designated Service Providers (DSPs); Drivers of healthcare costs; Managed care programs; Member education and understanding; Regulations, regulators and National Health Insurance (NHI).
