Bradley Kalil: Managing Director OMSFIN

Bradley joined Old Mutual in 1997. After conceptualising and starting OMSFIN, he left in 2000 to assume an Executive Director role at Goldman Sachs in London. Three years later he re-joined Old Mutual as Executive Personal Assistant to Roddy Sparks, Managing Director of Old Mutual South Africa. Bradley graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Business Science degree in Finance in 1992. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1995 articling with KPMG. Bradley also qualified as a Chartered Financial Analyst in 1998.

Hannelie Groenewald: Chief Operating Officer

Hannelie is a qualified Chartered Accountant and CFA Charterholder. She joined the Old Mutual group in 1998 as Financial Manager of the Namibian life assurance operation. After three years of establishing the finance operations of the Namibian business, she moved on to the Old Mutual Central Finance area as Group Financial Accountant, taking responsibility for the Old Mutual SA group regulatory and statutory reporting functions. She joined OMSFIN in 2005 as Chief Financial Officer and has recently assumed responsibility for the wider operational aspects of the business as Chief Operating Officer.

Michael Hyne: Executive Director, Origination & Principal Investment

Michael is a qualified Chartered Accountant and also CFA Charterholder. He joined OMSFIN at it's inception after a three year period as Manager in the Investment Banking Audit Practice of Ernst & Young's London office. Over the last ten years in Investment Management/Banking, Michael has gained extensive deal making experience and has led Old Mutual involvement in a number of significant debt transactions. Michael has built a highly successful origination team within OMSFIN which he leads as a member of OMSFIN's executive board.

Joseph Njoroge: Head of Debt Origination

Joseph completed his articles with Ernst & Young London office where he spent five years. He subsequently transferred to Ernst & Young Johannesburg where his main focus was in the financial services sector. He joined Old Mutual in October 2000 where he spent two years in Employee Benefits before joining OMSFIN as the Chief Operating Officer. He has since joined the Debt Origination team.

Shaun Harris: Mezzanine Fund Manager

Shaun joined OMSFIN in August 2008 from the OMIGSA Credit Research team. Prior to joining Old Mutual, Shaun worked as a mezzanine finance transactor at Makalani. Shaun completed his articles in 2003 at Deloitte and remained with the firm for a further 3 years - he was a Senior Manager in the Financial Institutions team and responsible for assessing the pricing, risk management and accounting treatment of financial instruments. Shaun is a Chartered Accountant and a CFA Charterholder.

Zeyn Ismail: Manager, Debt Origination

Zeyn graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Business Science degree in 2001 and obtained his Higher Diploma in Income Tax Law in 2003. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant at the end of February 2006 after completing his training contract with the financial services division of PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Zeyn joined OMSFIN in March 2006 as a Business Analyst with the Debt Origination team.

Lyn Botha: Manager, Debt Origination

Lyn is a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA). She joined the OMSFIN Debt Origination team in January 2008. Previously Lyn was part of the Debt Capital Markets team at Investec Bank Ltd, where she focused on structuring securitisation transactions. After completing articles at Grant Thornton, Lyn joined Imperial Bank’s Specialised Finance team where she focused on structuring corporate bonds, structured finance and securitization transactions.

Marzaan Luttig: Manager, Debt Origination

Marzaan joined Old Mutual in 2005. Before joining OMSFIN she was the Credit Manager for Fixed Income Investments in the Credit Research Team in OMIGSA. Marzaan graduated from the University of Stellenbosch with a Bachelor of Accountancy in 1998. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2003 articling with PWC (Financial Services Division). Marzaan also qualified as a Chartered Financial Analyst in 2007.

Mandy Benjamin: Manager, Debt Origination

Mandy joined the OMSFIN Debt Origination team in April 2007. At the end of February 2006 she qualified as a Chartered Accountant after completing her articles with the financial services division of PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Cape Town. Mandy also qualified as a Chartered Financial Analyst in 2006. She graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2001 obtaining the Bachelor of Business Science degree and completed the postgraduate Diploma in Accounting in 2002.

Ray van der Scholtz: Project Manager

Ray joined OMSFIN in July 2007 from BoE Private Clients where she managed the Banking Back Office Operations team. She has completed her Bachelor of Commerce degree with majors in Accounting and Business Management (Strategy & Risk), as well as a further major in Economics towards Honours in Economics. She has 10 years Life Assurance experience in Employee Benefits and 9 years banking experience. Whilst at Old Mutual Bank she project managed the implementation of the National Payments System and managed the SARB account.

Marcelle van Schalkwyk: Project Manager

Marcelle joined OMSFIN in October 2008 from Momentum Group Business where she was employed as a Business Analyst. Whilst in the BA team she was involved in a number of systems development projects including Business Intelligence, Pricing, Document Registration and Workflow. Before joining the BA team she worked for Momentum Ability where she was responsible for Financial and Statutory Reporting of Cell Captives. Marcelle has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree with majors in Accounting and Business Management (Strategy and Investments).

Andrew McPherson: Executive Director, Trading & Structuring

Andrew's qualifications include a Bachelor of Business Science (Hons) Finance, Economics, Information Systems, a PGDA from the University of Cape Town. Whilst at KPMG he specialised in the audit of corporate, institutional and bank treasuries, and was a member of the Treasury Advisory Group. He is a level 3 CFA and a qualified as a Chartered Accountant after finishing articles at KPMG. Andrew joined OMSFIN in 2002 and since 2003 has been responsible for the asset liability management of a R45bn balance sheet.

Natasha Pillay: Tax Specialist

Natasha graduated from the University of Witwatersrand with a BA LLB and subsequently obtained a LLM (Commercial Law) from the University of Cape Town. She joined Old Mutual in 1997 starting in Legal Services, and then moving into the Corporate Tax Division as a tax consultant. Natasha joined OMSFIN in April 2005 as a tax specialist responsible for the design and implementation of tax efficient structures for the Old Mutual Group.

Kevin Wood: Head: Money Market Trading

Kevin started working at Liberty Life (JHB Head Office) in 1987 in the investment accounting department. Later he joined Syfrets trading desk and became the Settlements Manager. Kevin joined OMAM; (now Old Mutual Investment Group South Africa); in 1999 as a Senior Portfolio Administrator and amongst others, assisted OMSFIN Managing Director in setting up the Fixed Interest Lending System. In 2002 he joined OMSFIN in the risk management function, and went on to the dealing desk. Currently Kevin does money market trades, funding the corporate market, scrip lending and repo trading.

Greg Mollentz: Structured Solutions Trader

Greg’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Economic Science (majoring in pure mathematics and economics) and a BSc (Hons) in financial mathematics from WITS University. In 2000 he joined Gensec Bank as a quantitative analyst, but soon moved into the role of Equity Derivatives Trader. That role continued through Gensec’s take-over by Sanlam Capital Markets until Oct 2008. His area of expertise is the practical implementation, hedging and pricing of equity derivative strategies. In Oct 2008 Greg joined OMSFIN’s trading team as a Structured Solutions Trader.

Lancelot Osburn: Portfolio Manager

Lance graduated with a Bachelor in Business Science (Actuarial Science) from the University of Cape Town in 2002 and obtained a Post-graduate Diploma in Actuarial Science in 2004. He qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in September 2004. Lance previously worked for Old Mutual Healthcare where he was the Fund Actuary and Consultant to several restricted membership medical schemes. He joined Old Mutual Specialised Finance in June 2006 as a Junior Trader / Portfolio Manager.

James Henshall-Howard: Assistant Money Market Trader

James graduated with a Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics degree majoring in economics and philosophy in 2005, and in 2006, graduated with an Honours degree in Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management from the University of Cape Town. He joined the Old Mutual Investment Group in October 2006 and worked as a Senior Portfolio Administrator for the OMSFIN back-office operations before joining OMSFIN as Assistant Money Market Trader in May 2008.

Dirk Schenck: Assistant Money Market Trader

Dirk graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Financial Analysis majoring in Investment Management from the University of Stellenbosch in 2006.

He joined the Old Mutual Investment Group in July 2007 and worked as a Senior Portfolio Administrator for the OMSFIN operations team before joining OMSFIN as Assistant Money Market Trader in February 2009.

Munnik Botha: Head, Market Risk & Quant Development

Munnik has a BSc. in Actuarial Science and Honours in Statistics from the University of the Witwatersrand. He has fulfilled various actuarial roles since joining Old Mutual in 1993. In March 2004 he joined OMSFIN as a quantitative analyst in the Trading team where he analyses OMSFIN's trading portfolio risks as well as modelling and understanding the risks inherent in various products written by the Life Company.

Abdu-Rahman Abrahams: Manager, Debt Origination

Abdu-Rahman joined OMSFIN in February 2006 as a business analyst. He graduated with a Business Science degree majoring in Finance and Statistics as the University of Cape Town in 2001. He also completed his postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (2002) and Higher Diploma in Tax Law (2003) at UCT. Abdu- Rahman qualified as a Chartered Accountant (South Africa) in December 2005, having completed his articles at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Cape Town where he was a member of the Financial Services team.
