  • Investment minimum is R100 000.
  • Access to a broad spectrum of investments and unit trusts as well as the advice of a range of leading asset managers.
  • Invest either directly into your choice of underlying investment options, or phase in your capital via the Old Mutual Money Market Fund or Old Mutual Secured Fund into the funds of your choice, according to market conditions.
  • You may select an annual income rate of between 2.5% and 17.5% of the portfolio's asset value, allowing you to balance income needs and tax efficiency.
  • You may specify from which funds the income must be deducted. Alternatively, this may be done proportionately across all funds.
  • This income rate is reviewable annually on the investment anniversary date.
  • Income may be paid monthly, quarterly, half yearly or yearly.
  • You may nominate beneficiaries.
  • Should you die, your investment does not form part of your deceased estate for estate duty purposes, provided no lump sum is taken.
  • This investment is for life. Upon death, the remaining benefit may be paid to your beneficiaries as an annuity over five years or longer, or as a lump sum (if your investment originated from a pension or provident fund).
  • Your contract may not be ceded or pledged as security.
  • In terms of current legislation, your benefit is protected in the event of your insolvency.
  • Income derived from this annuity is taxed at your marginal tax rate.
  • If you are investing proceeds from a pension or provident fund or certain retirement annuities, your investment may be subject to the regulations of the Pension Funds Act which stipulate that no more than 75% of your capital may be invested in equities.
