Celebrate Valentine's Day with OM at Music at the Lake
1 Feb 2010Old Mutual Music at the Lake Concert series will kick-off with a Valentine’s performance by Just Jinjer on Sunday, 14 February 2010 at the Durban Botanic Gardens.
The audience can look forward to hearing tracks from Milk & Honies, their latest eight-track EP album. This new album is likely to spawn a whole new fan base.
Their musical talent has advanced during their years in the States and in just over a decade Just Jinjer has sold over 250 000 albums. The band has toured with U2, Counting Crows, Live, Goo Goo Dolls, and many more well known artists. When asked why Just Jinjer’s songs and music continues to gather a growing fanbase, Matthews says, “It’s relevant. We are saying things that people can listen to 20 years from now and it will still mean the same thing.”
Matthews (vocals/guitar), Harris (drums/vocals) and Harding (base/vocals) all began playing a musical instrument at a young age and today these well-honed skills make Just Jinjer’s music alluring and appealing - music that touches the heart, body, mind and soul.
Farryl Purkiss will open this Valentine Concert. Purkiss, another of Durban’s talented musicians who is currently based in Cape Town, continues to rise in popularity as his musical talent grows.
Durban fans can look forward to enjoying Just Jinjer, a world-class band, from 6:30pm onwards. Bring a picnic and spoil your loved one.

Book early through Web Tickets to catch the early bird ticket price of R80 (a concession ticket price of R20 for children between 6 and 12 years).
If you miss the early bird ticket price, you will pay R100 on the day of the concert. The concession ticket price of R20 remains for children - 6yrs to 12yrs and is available from the Info Centre in the Durban Botanic Gardens, Tel: 031-3091170 (open 7 days /week).
Parking
Secure parking is available on the Juventus Ground off lower St Thomas Road, adjacent to the Botanic Gardens and the Munies Hockey Field, off lower Sydenham Road.
