What is a Circle of Distinguished Advisers?
Old Mutual is proud to introduce CoDA which is a "Circle Of Distinguished Advisers". This is a dynamic group of top financial advisers who are qualified and regularly evaluated in terms of the industry criteria.

CoDA entry requirements and criteria
Advisers have to meet the following criteria to make sure that you are in good hands.
Our advisers are professionals who must have obtained a qualification as a Certified Financial Planner, which is an internationally recognised certification. Find out more about the qualification here.

An adviser must meet an “acceptable” rating in the overall running of his/her practice. This is measured against Best Business principles.
The first assessment is done via an electronic PGA (Practice Gap Analysis) which is audited by an independent external auditor/practice management specialist.

An adviser must achieve an “optimal” rating with regard to delivering quality annual reviews in his/her practice. This is measured against Best Business principles aimed at being client-centric.

CoDA is an acronym for Circle of Distinguished Advisers. It is an exclusive, internal programme that acknowledges a select top echelon of Advisers who have achieved specific criteria centred around quality of advice and world-class practices that focus on customer-centricity.
Has to meet the following requirements:
The application process is fairly simple. The Adviser and the Area Management (SM and AM) will decide to apply after matching the Adviser and his/her practice against the criteria. If they agree that it is met in terms of experience, Trophy Points and CFP, they will apply for membership to Bronwyn Maingard via e-mail. Audits will then be arranged to assess the “health status” of that practice.
There is a strict Code of Conduct that members are required to adhere to.
No, it is not. Currently, a period of 12-months will be granted for CoDA members. Qualification is reviewed annually.
No, it does not. Specifically, Club 51 and Convention (Offshore and Onshore) are not affected by this programme.
Yes, they are. Each year management will review the rules and criteria in an effort to ensure that the intended purpose of CoDA is still being met. Any changes will however be made with due discretion and be signed off at the PFA EXCO.
Members are assessed every year and a member could lose his/her membership if he/she fails to meet any of the criteria. (A grace period of one year is allowed should he/she fail any of these standards).
