What is Skills Capacity Development? The portfolio supports accredited skills training programmes for youth that lead to permanent jobs. They also fund the provision of skills set that enable community self-sufficiency and assist people who would be considered unemployable. Another focus area is contributing to small-business development through funding general entrepreneurial skills for emerging entrepreneurs.
You need to be a registered non-profit (NPO)/public benefit organisation (PBO) providing accredited skills training that has a strong emphasis on job placement of students after graduating. The organisation must also provide exposure to financial education to prepare students for earning an income. The programme funds initiatives that encourage green economy skills; trade and artisan skills; tourism, hospitality; IT digital skills; and healthcare services.
Please be advised that preference is given to organisations that empower youth between the ages of 18 to 25 years with a matric qualification and people with disabilities. To get in touch you may contact the Portfolio Manager, Louise Jones on 021 509 4556 or email her on LJones4@oldmutual.com.
