How to qualify as a Franchise Principal
- You will need a company (Pty) and a minimum of 15 advisers
- FAIS Compliance or proof of progress towards compliance
- Must have relevant qualification (that exempts the candidate from the FSB qualification list of 120 credits)
- Proof of successfully managing a business
- Minimum of two years' experience in the assurance industry
- Have business acumen and the ability to grow and develop people
- Have a strong network and recruitment skills
- Preferably seven or more years' sales/business experience
- Clear criminal and credit check
The key requirement to qualify as a Franchise Principal are:

- Manage their own business aligned to the Old Mutual brand
- Have the potential to manage and own a mandated Franchise business, acting as an extension of the Old Mutual brand
- Drive customer acquisition in line with Old Mutual’s standards
- Monitor and drive Franchise’s results and performance manage all franchise staff i.e. Supervisors and Agents
- Identify, understand, and act on broader market and/or competitor trends/opportunities to set, develop and drive value adding change
- Build your Franchise business by recruiting and managing Franchise Agents and their sales performance
A Franchise Principal is expected to:

- Operate under the Old Mutual FSP License
- Support with compliance, risk, and practise management as well as business intelligence requirements
- Ongoing training for the Franchise
- Recruitment support (including agent back round checks, credit, and criminal vetting, as well as assistance with Franchise Agent CV pipeline when required)
- Processes and systems support
- A dedicated Regional Manager
- Procedure and operations manual
- Entrepreneurial independence
- A competitive product range that meets customers’ needs
- Marketing support
