Old Mutual and the Black Management Forum (BMF) co-hosted a powerful thought leadership session aimed at advancing Black economic empowerment in the Eastern Cape. This region continues to face persistent barriers, with many Black professionals and entrepreneurs lacking access to financial instruments and awareness of available financial support. To inspire and inform an audience of funders, financiers, government officials, and industry leaders, Thabang Hleza, Head of Investment at the Masisizane Fund, highlighted the critical role of impact funding in South Africa’s development journey. His presentation underscored how targeted financial interventions can drive inclusive growth and sustainable transformation.
The event went beyond discussion—it became a potential catalyst for action. By exploring innovative funding solutions, capacity-building initiatives, and collaborative strategies, the session laid the groundwork for strengthening Black leadership and fostering meaningful economic empowerment.
