HOW HAS THE PANDEMIC CHANGED THE WAY
OLD MUTUAL SEES ITS PLACE IN THE WORLD?
‘It has heightened our sense of connectedness to one another. Covid-19 has been indiscriminate in whom it infects and has become everyone’s problem. We’ve seen that those with the best chance of fighting it are doing so collaboratively across
a broad range of stakeholders.
‘The pandemic has taught us to broaden our view in our quest to deliver shared value. The health agenda, for example, continues to take priority at this stage, and our response has to reflect that, both for our clients and communities. Even though economic activity has largely resumed everywhere, this health agenda doesn’t fall away. Instead, we have a responsibility and a business imperative to ensure that it continues to be prioritised. Old Mutual’s support of national vaccination efforts is an example of this and makes total sense because you, as a business, want to protect your current and future customer base’s ability to support your business.’
