And that is why you need all the support possible to make it easy for your valid claim on listed severe illnesses to be processed as quickly as possible.

Claims made easyIt can be daunting to claim if you don't know what documents you need or where to send them. Below, you'll find all the information you need to submit your claim. 
    • Copy of ID document for the:
      • Contracting party (the person who bought the policy or signed the contract, or
      • Life covered, or
      • Beneficiary
    • Copy of a birth certificate if you are claiming on behalf of a child
    • Proof of address
    • Banking details
    • Letter of executorship when the benefit needs to be paid to an estate
    • Proof of personal income if you are claiming on an income benefit

    The standard timeline we communicate to customers is 15 working days. Generally most claims take far less time to process. This is to manage expectations as various scenarios could cause delays in processing and payment.

    No, you will need to open a bank account in your own name in order to be paid a benefit.

    Make a copy of the document. Take the copy and the original to your nearest commissioner of oaths (there are commissioners of oaths at police stations, legal offices, banks and Old Mutual branches) to be certified. The commissioner will stamp, date and sign the copy of the document.

    Consult your Financial Adviser: Discuss your situation with your financial adviser. They can offer valuable advice on how to accurately complete the form.

    Completing the claim form

    Be precise and thorough: Fill out the claim form with accuracy and provide as much detail as possible. Incomplete or inaccurate forms can delay processing.

    Attach supporting documents: Make sure all required supporting documents are attached with your claim form. Double-check the form's instructions to ensure you haven't missed anything.

    Keep copies: Always keep copies of the completed claim form and supporting documents for your records. This will be helpful for future reference.

    After Submitting the Claim Form

    Follow up: Keep in touch with your financial adviser or the claims department to monitor the status of your claim. Ask for updates if you haven't heard back within the expected time-frame.

    Respond promptly to requests for additional information: If further details or documentation are requested, respond as quickly and thoroughly as possible to avoid delays.
