You can initiate the MyClaim process as soon as you have submitted your resignation. Please keep in mind that Old Mutual cannot commence processing your claim until your employer (i) confirms your exit and (ii) submits your final month’s contribution.

Your employer will be notified of any MyClaim submissions awaiting their confirmation, including information pertaining to your exit date and reason.

Our system allows for validation of your bank account provided it is held with one of the major banks. If we cannot validate your bank account, you will be requested to upload a bank statement for manual verification of your details.

Once the payroll has been submitted by your employer where you are noted as an exit, you will receive a notification prompting you to complete a MyClaim. If you do not complete this within 90 or 120 days of your date of exit (depending on which fund you belong to), your benefits will be retained in the Fund’s Preserver/Paid-Up option. You can exit from Preserver at any time. To receive our notifications, ensure that your contact details are updated accordingly with your employer.

Should you need assistance, we encourage you to ask your employer to assist you with registering on Secure Services and to guide you through the MyClaim withdrawal process.

If you do not have a computer, we encourage you to ask your employer to provide you with access to one. This will enable you to submit your MyClaim. Alternatively, you can access MyClaim on your mobile device.

If the values in your Vested Pot and Retirement Pot are less than R165 000, you are eligible to withdraw these funds in cash at retirement.

Claims on MyClaim can be initiated in two ways:

    1. You can submit your laim on MyClaim. View the infographic that walks you through the process
    2. A draft MyClaim will be created if your employer has noted your exit when submitting their payroll to Old Mutual. You will be  be notified that youremployer has confirmed your exit and that you can now go online and submit a  MyClaim.

You should submit claims on MyClaim only in these circumstances: if you are retiring, retiring due to ill-health retiral, resigning, are retrenched or are dismissed. Death and disability claims will continue to be processed manually by your employer.

You will be kept up to date via SMS notifications during the claims process, using the cellphone number as provided by you on MyClaim.

Old Mutual Branch walk-in centres cannot support you with MyClaim queries. Please speak to your employer or contact the Call Centre on 0860 20 30 40.

If you submit an exit date or reason that differs from what your employer has on record, you will be notified about this dispute. To resolve this, please liaise with your employer. You will need to log onto MyClaim to capture the reason as provided by the Employer.

If you do not have an email address, you can submit the email address of a family member or that of your financial advisor.
