This benefit is tailored to the needs of students, offering affordable options to help protect against unexpected healthcare costs. Exclusive for University Students
It includes benefits such as doctors’ visits, hospital stay, casualty, and preventative care. Having a student insurance ensures that you can access medical care you need without worrying about the financial burden.

Medical aid schemes provide comprehensive cover at a relatively higher monthly contribution and are governed by the Medical Schemes Act. They must adhere to regulatory requirements which include: indemnity based, not for profit, open enrolment and Prescribed Minimum Benefits (PMB).
By contrast, a health insurance product offers insurance cover at a relatively lower cost for basic, day-to-day expenses such as general practitioner (GP) visits and medication. Health insurance also adheres to the Short-term Insurance Act and the Insurance Act. These regulations are: indemnity based, for profit, group, and individual-focused underwriting.
Employees can have both health insurance and medical aid products but only for day-to-day cover; they can't have both if they opt for a benefit option providing hospital emergency cover or illness (they have to choose one or the other).
