The latest Mercer CFA Institute Global Pension Index ranked South Africa’s pension system 38th out of 47 systems worldwide.

That leaves a lot of room for improvement, so we caught up with Dr David Knox, an actuary, senior partner at Mercer and keynote speaker at the Old Mutual Thought Leaders Forum, to get his insights on why South Africa ranks relatively low, and the key drivers our retirement industry and government need to engage to improve retirement outlooks for the future.
