A giant chain in the US aims to inject fun back into the shopping experience by transforming its parking lots into drive-in movie theatres. This offering allows customers to gather with others for safe entertainment – and fill their baskets with store essentials while they’re there.

Drive-through experiences are also seeing an increase, with one leading South African shopping mall offering a pick-up station where consumers can collect what they’ve ordered online without having to leave their cars.
