The changes under discussion to Regulation 28 of the Pension Funds Act could influence how much of their money pension funds can invest in infrastructure. This has raised concern among some members of funds and the public, with some drawing a parallel with Prescribed Assets.

But the proposed amendments are no reason to panic, says Malusi Ndlovu, director of large enterprises as Old Mutual, as the discretion of trustees to make investments remains completely intact.
