As Southern Africa’s biggest choral music festival and one of the most thrilling music events in the world, the Old Mutual National Choir Festival has raised the bar, year after year, for 42 years.
The Old Mutual National Choir Festival prides itself on its rich heritage of cultivating talent and showcasing the top choirs across the length and breadth of Southern Africa as they compete for top honours.
Africans are well known for celebrating their cultures, traditions and everyday life with their voices raised in song - something that has been shared by community, school and church choirs for generations. Building on the spectacular 2018 success, a staggering 106 choirs will take part in this year’s regional competitions between 4 August and 26 October 2019:

The National Choir Festival Management Committee operates under the constraint of a constitution. The Committee is responsible for the strategic development of the project and oversees the work of the agency and regional committees.
The Management Committee comprises of the following members; Thabani Khanyile (Chairperson), Thokozani Mkhize-Ndlovu, Nelson Madzhie, Kgosi Monaisa, Khothamani Vilakazi, Shirley Montsho, Thami Zungu (Adjudicators Chairperson), Bandile Mngoma and Naledi Maphisa (Old Mutual), Gerald Bhembe (Event Consultant).
The Adjudication Panel for 2018 includes: Mr. Thami Zungu (Chief Adjudicator); Mr. Msizi Mnyandu; Mr. Kiewiet Pali; Mrs. Nomusa Seleke; Mr Sfiso Tshezi; Mr. Patrick Tikolo; Dr Griffiths Khanyile; Mrs Norma Mfenyana; Mr. Edward Phiri; Ms Nothandazo Mkhize –Solomon; Mr Phelelani Mnomiya; Mr Mkhulisi Milisi and Ms Phindile Shongwe.
