Special Achievements

The FPI’s annual awards recognise excellence in the financial planning profession and award planners for their outstanding achievements.

Bruce Fleming recently joined the Private Wealth Management team operating out of PWM Rondebosch office. We're proud to announce that Bruce is the winner of the FPI Financial Planner of the Year Award.

Bruce Fleming graduated with a B.Com LLB degree from the University of Natal (PMB) in 1994. He completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning in 1999, followed by an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning in 2001 at the University of the Free State. Bruce was a finalist in 2014 and 2015 before winning the FPI Financial Planner of the Year Award this year. He is passionate and qualified in speaking; as well as writing a number of articles; on retirement, investment and tax planning matters.

Francois Le Roux, PWM Pretoria, also participated in the competition and was one of the top three finalists.

Francois is a qualified Attorney and joined Private Wealth Management (PWM) in 2001. He has over fifteen years’ experience in lifestyle financial planning within the high net worth market, and he is highly regarded in his field and the industry.

Francois' entry included submitting a financial plan and undertaking a robust online business assessment, as well as a panel site visit and audit to his office.

He was chosen as one of the top three 2016 finalists and had to undergo further panel interviews and present a top-class blueprint for professional financial planning. Francois said this robust entry process compelled him to take stock of his practice and fine-tune his ways of working. In addition, entering offered him an unparalleled opportunity to benchmark his practice against the very best practices in the profession.

Old Mutual Private Wealth Management is an advice-led, client-centric and future-fit business and Francois embodies this, as confirmed by his placing as one of the top three in the FPI Financial Planner of the Year award.
