Old Mutual Global Equity Fund wins for consistent out performance over 10-years3 March 2026

Cape Town, 3 March 2026: The Old Mutual Global Equity Fund has been named winner of the Global Equity – General (10 Year) category at the 2026 FundHub Industry Performance Awards, held in partnership with News24. The fund was also nominated in the Global Equity – General (5 Year) category, underpinning its consistent long-term track record.

Launched in May 1995, the fund has built a reputation for delivering disciplined, risk-aware global equity exposure to South African investors. The latest recognition affirms its ability to generate sustained outperformance across full market cycles, not just in short bursts of favourable conditions. The Old Mutual Global Equity fund is managed by Jupiter Asset Management, Old Mutual Wealth’s long-standing strategic partner based in London, and it emerged as a winner from a strong shortlist of five exceptional South African asset managers.

“This recognition is proof of our commitment to delivering consistent, long-term top-quartile performance and leading the way in global markets. A powerful endorsement of our long-term investment philosophy and the discipline of the investment process which Jupiter employs. It’s never about chasing short-term trends but developing a robust investment strategy that delivers consistent value for investors over time. The Old Mutual Global Equity Fund’s disciplined and adaptive approach positions it as a cornerstone solution for investors seeking credible, proven global equity exposure,” says Gontse Tsatsi, Head: Best in Class at Symmetry.

Amadeo Alentorn, Portfolio Manager at Jupiter Fund Management, heads up the team that oversees the fund “We have a keen focus on investment strategy that has evolved to leverage technological and intellectual developments over time, whilst focused on statistical learning. To outperform over a longer 10-year horizon demands a dynamism and flexibility to use the right style at each part of the cycle.”

According to Alentorn, being style agnostic also allows the fund manager to explore new ways of thinking. “We are building on our long-standing leadership in systematic investing by exploring how Artificial Intelligence and machine learning can enhance our already robust research framework. This means resisting the temptation to adopt untested algorithms and automations in favour of data interpretation, model design, and statistical learning – all areas in which we excel. Statistical learning means using emerging technologies and applying data-driven techniques, testing hypotheses, and refining models under real-world constraints.”

“We are grateful to our investors for their continued trust and Jupiter for commitment to delivering positive results for our clients. Our commitment remains the same: to deliver consistent, long-term performance and to help clients achieve their investment goals,” Tsatsi concludes.

The Old Mutual Global Equity Fund has won numerous awards over the years, most recently the 2025 INN8 Invest Diamond Awards in the category “Best Global Equity General”.
