A stable relationship between the US and China, the world's superpowers, is of critical importance to the rest of the world. Therefore, the meeting between their leaders in Beijing was a positive development. Both countries exude external strength but contain internal challenges. Where they differ is in financial market valuations, with considerably more pessimism priced in China equities compared to exuberant American markets.
