2025 brought plenty of surprises, yet markets – both global and local – held up strongly despite political and economic shocks. As we head into 2026, uncertainty remains elevated, reinforcing the value of staying diversified. Key themes to watch include the AI investment cycle, pivotal Fed decisions, South Africa’s improving economic backdrop and the upcoming local elections. Valuations remain attractive and the outlook for investors is still positive.
Old Mutual Multi-Managers was renamed Symmetry, signalling a shift to a comprehensive suite of investment solutions tailored to diverse client needs. These include Discretionary Fund Management solutions – both off-the-shelf and bespoke portfolios – fund of funds through our multi-manager capability, and carefully curated single-manager solutions through our Best-in-Class capability.
The Old Mutual Global Equity Fund received recognition as Best Global Equity General Fund at the 2025 INN8 Invest Diamond Awards. The fund, expertly managed by Jupiter Asset Managers, was celebrated for its exceptional performance over the five years to December 2024 – a testament to our commitment to delivering consistent, long-term value.
Together with the Pedal Power Association and the Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust, we welcomed cyclists and support drivers to the 2025 Old Mutual Wealth Double Century on 22 November 2025 in Swellendam. 202km of teamwork, challenges, and some of the most breathtaking views South Africa has to offer.
