How to switch your debit orders from your Money Account

Debit Order Switching

Your debit order switching questions, answered

Get your Account Confirmation Letter (OM Bank App > your account > Options > Documents > Account Confirmation Letter). Then log into the Money Account App, click the banner, and follow the steps to update your details using your OM Bank account info. Make sure your OM Bank account is funded on time so your policy benefits keep going.

These need a branch visit. Take your Account Confirmation Letter (OM Bank App > your account > Options > Documents > Account Confirmation Letter) to your nearest Old Mutual branch, and the consultant will update your Old Mutual products for you.

Get your Account Confirmation Letter from the OM Bank App (OM Bank App > your account > Options > Documents > Account Confirmation Letter) and send it to each external service provider, asking them to update their billing details.

Yes - you can use any bank account, not just OM Bank. If your debit orders are limited to funeral policy, life cover or other products, log into the Money Account App, click the banner, and follow the steps using your chosen bank's details. If you have debit orders across funeral policy, life cover or other product sets, you'll need to visit an Old Mutual branch with your proof of banking instead.

Get proof of banking for whichever account you're using (from your banking app or internet banking) and send it to your external service providers to update.
Same everywhere: get your proof of banking, send it to the provider, and ask them to update their records. This applies whether or not you bank with OM Bank.
No. Stopping the debit order does not cancel your agreement with the provider. You must contact them directly to change your billing details, or you could fall behind on payments despite switching banks.
Yes - most debit orders now run through DebiCheck. Once Old Mutual or your service provider updates your new banking details, you'll get a notification. You need to check the amount, date, and company name, then approve the new mandate in the OM Bank Mobile App (or your bank's app if you're not with OM Bank).
Your policy or product benefits could lapse. Make sure your account is funded before the debit order date every time, especially during the switch period.
